True to form, Nothing has just announced the full reveal date of its upcoming audio product, Ear (stick).
So, an ad about an ad. You have to hand it over to Carl Pei’s marketing department, they never miss a trick.
What we’re saying is that while we still don’t have ‘nothing’ conclusive about the Ear’s (stick) features, pricing, or release date, other than an image of another model holding them (and we’ve seen a lot of them roaming the runway recently), we Does we have a date – the day when we will have official access to this information.
That day is October 26th. There is no guarantee that on this day we will be able to find out everything, including pricing and product specs, during the online Ear Reveal at 3pm BST (which is 10am ET, or 1am on Wednesday if you are in Sydney, Australia) at nothing.tech (opens in new tab).
Any additional information? A little. Nothing calls the Ear (stick), which is now the product’s official name, “the next generation of Nothing sound technology” and its “most advanced audio product yet”.
But that is not all! Apparently, the Ear (stick) are “true semi-in-ear wireless headphones that balance supreme comfort with exceptional sound, made not to be felt when in use. They’re feather-light with an ergonomic design molded to your ears. Delivered in a unique charging case, inspired by classic cosmetic silhouettes and compactly shaped to simply slip into pockets.”
Opinion: I need more than a lipstick style case

It’s no secret that I want Nothing’s headphones to succeed in the AirPods-dominated world; Who doesn’t love a brave and eccentric underdog?
But to become one of the best true wireless headphones on the market, there’s room for improvement over the Nothing Ear 1, the company’s inaugural headphones.
In addition to this official Nothing ‘news’, leaked images and videos of the Ear (stick) are popping up all over the internet (thanks developer Kuba Wojciechowski) and depict headphones that look mostly unchanged, which is a shame.
For me, the focus needs to shift from gimmicks like a cylindrical box with a red section at the end that curls up like lipstick. Don’t get me wrong, I love a little bit of theater, but only if the sound coming from the headphones themselves is the best.
As the Nothing Phone 1’s natural companions, it makes sense that the Ear (stick) would occupy a similar place to Apple’s AirPods 3, where the flagship Ear (1) sits alongside the AirPods Pro 2 as a flagship offering.
See, that lipstick case format probably won’t support wireless charging. That and the rumored lack of ANC means the Ear (stick) is probably coming up as the most affordable option in Nothing’s oeuvre.
For now, we’re holding tight until October 26th.
